Cat in a blue wheelbarrow

This was lifted from the facebook collection of Elizabeth Foster. I don't know whether she created or borrowed it. I'm willing to credit the "author" and artist, if anyone knows.

Seasonal Wheelbarrow

Holly spotted this. It seems like Halloween. It also seems to have a flat, maybe. I like it being parked at the curb like a car.

Lion in a wheelbarrow

Obi, a lion at Oaklawn Farm Zoo in Nova Scotia, sitting where he wants to sit. I don't know who added the caption, but it was sent to me on facebook this way by Claire Horsley. Notes on the original photo are at the link above.

Resting in a wheelbarrow

Gigi Polikowsky, taking a rest at the World Dairy Expo, early October, 2015, in Madison Wisconsin.
Her mom posted the photo, which her dad took noting, "Brian said she was resting reading the cow show catalog."

Simpsons Tapped Out wheelbarrow

Part of the monorail addition (so they're here temporarily). When you visit neighbors to dump trash, you do it by tapping a wheelbarrow.

Two, different, same place

Janine Davies sent images and this note:
Wheelbarrows from from Horsley near Nailsworth, Stroud, England

One greeting visitors on the approach path to 'Sunflower Cottage' (home to some very good friends of ours.) and one a working wheelbarrow that was originally purchased as a fun wheel chair for their middle son who broke his thigh bone!

He is all fit and well now, and skateboards and cycles and runs like the wind.

I've added the tag "human transport" now, because there are others. The Chinese wheelbarrow photo, Dutch postcard, drunk removal from a painting in Pasadena, and maybe others. I'll go back and label those, too.

Socks (socks I don't want, btw)

Don't anybody buy these for me, but the picture is good to have for the record.

From the fun online catalog BlueQ, sock with a wheelbarrow.

One of the most irritating things people can say is "Don't judge me," so that cancels out the value of the item for me, but as wheelbarrow art goes—this is the first I've seen on socks!

(I went to see if a wheelbarrow t-shirt existed. There are 180 on Cafe Press alone. Some are cool, and some are weird, and that's how I knew for sure it was Cafe Press!)

My favorite wasn't on Cafe Press anymore, but google still remembered it:

Wheelbarrow song for Iggy

Looking for a video of The Arrow Barrows, I found this song. I can't credit the author or performer as there wasn't a name, but I'd be glad to credit!

Iggy's Grandpa:

I'll tell you about my wheelbarrow
It is so much fun
I move a lot of stuff with my wheelbarrow
Sometimes I even run

My wheelbarrow has one wheel
Two handles and a tug
It's kind of rusty and squeaks a lot
But it still gets things done

I moved some dirt with my wheelbarrow
I dumped it in pile
Then I put little Iggy in
And pushed him around for a while

He smiled and smiled and held on tight
I made a motor noise
The neighbors looked to find out that
It's just us happy boys

I saw some other songs there and might bring others later.

Synchronized wheelbarrows in Cornwall

Deb Lewis left this link for me with this note:
Synchronized wheelbarrows. "The idea then came to fruition over a few beers in the village pub."

Meet the 'Arrow Barrows' - the Cornish Wheelbarrow Wonders, in The Cornish Guardian, August 12, 2015

The article is very sweet, and has links and a photo of the group's extensive, costumed back-up squad.
I haven't found video, but if anyone does, please let me know!

Set 60006

This is the wheelbarrow Alicia Gonzalez used for Learn Nothing Day art, and the same mold as the wheelbarrow LEGO Ned Flanders has (but his is green).

Home job? Old.

Deanne Rosselli sent this photo:

When I asked where it was, she wrote "Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida. It's next to an old outdoor saw mill that appears to be still in use."

So that's sand, on the ground, and not snow.

Birthday wheelbarrow

Sent by Bruno Venturini as a birthday greeting (the image, not the whole wheelbarrow!), from Portugal (or lifted from the internet by someone in Portugal, not sure yet).

Kentwell, another one, less glorious, great wheel

Another conveyance photographed at Kentwell. I'm not sure I want to call this one a wheelbarrow. Maybe it's more a handcart, having no sides. But I love that front wheel!

Adam Daniel is the model, and his mom, Julie, took the photo.

Riding in a clean, new wheelbarrow

Toby Tsosie wrote on Facebook:
Connor and I found this pimped out wheel barrel at cooks hardware today.. Well be Rollin deep and doing chores!

When I wrote and asked, this was some of our exchange:
Sandra:
I loved wheelbarrow rides when I was a kid. My dad would go fast and I'd hold the edge and feel like flight.
Toby:
We did a few laps today.
Cook's Hardware has been in Española (my hometown) my whole life (and longer, probably), and the wheelbarrow now resides a few miles up the road in Santa Clara Pueblo. Someday it will be an old wheelbarrow, but On May 18, 2015, it was brand new.

Interesting handles—Mississauga, Ontario

I hadn't seen handles like this on a full-size wheelbarrow. It was in the parking lot where Paramount butcher shop is, in Missisauga, Ontario.

Photo of a poster of a wheelbarrow

Digitally-shared image of a photo of a poster of a photo of a wheelbarrow:

Katie Pybus sent it and wrote: A photo of a massive photo of a wheelbarrow. Everytime I see a wheelbarrow I think of you. Taken at Hinton Ampner last week.

I don't know where "Hinton Ampner" is. Looking it up...
Oh! A stately home:
Hinton Ampner House is a stately home with gardens within the civil parish of Bramdean and Hinton Ampner, near Alresford, Hampshire, England. The house and garden are owned by the National Trust and are open to the public.
But maybe there's a town named that, and it wasn't taken at the historic museumized home. Hold on—in the video, a mom who was visiting said "Everyone loves the cafe."

from Linda Wyatt

"I finally have a wheelbarrow picture for you. This is a stone bridge, originally built by the CCC in 1933 (I believe) in Robert H Treman State Park. It was washed out in a flood in 2013, and is still being rebuilt." —Linda Wyatt

(Links were added by me—"CCC" stands for Civilian Conservation Corps, and anyone who doesn't know about that will probably find it interesting. Robert H Treman State Park is near Ithaca, New York. I looked it up.)

Hampton Court Station, stealth-barrow

Janine Davies wrote, on March 13, 2015:

A Wheelbarrow for you Sandra. It is on the Platform of Hampton Court Station and I can't believe I have never noticed it before....Its chained down... and has a flat tyre, and seems to be a herb garden of sorts. It's near the entrance but to the side and slightly obscured by the cafe so actually very missable, but once I saw it I couldn't believe I had missed it all these times! Even when Holly was here.

Sandra Dodd:
They're everywhere, and elegant-but-plain, and engineering masterpieces, yet mundane. Thanks for the photo!

Michelle Hodgson-Gregory:
I've never seen that either!!!!!!!! HOW MANY times have I been to that station???

As a profound trivial tie-in, the day before a wheelbarrow that is chained to the ground at Hampton Court Station travelled (its image, anyway) to Albuquerque, a banana was given a motorbike ride in Vietnam... This is drectly related to the wheelbarrow above. Okay, INdirectly related, but probably as close as Albuquerque and a Vietnamese motor bike, all in a two-day period can be!!!

Motorized wheelbarrow

This is GREAT!

I don't know where it is, but Alex Polikowsky found it on facebook, and it said "with Raul Méndez" so I don't know if he's the "driver," owner, photographer, poster, or maybe more than one.

If anyone knows more about who, when and where, please leave a note! (The "WHY" is obvious!)

Toy stroller, WWII camp

Alicia Gonzalez wrote "Hi Sandra!
While looking for vintage pictures of girls playing with dolls, I saw this one."

It's from the photo archive website of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the caption says: "A young Jewish DP girl poses with a doll and toy stroller in the Feldafing displaced persons camp. Pictured is Reisele Kirkel."

It may be a toy stroller, but it has a lot in common with a wheelbarrow. If anyone happens to find a photo of this or a similar "stroller," or sees one somewhere, pleaes leave a note! With two front "feet," stands, it might have one wheel, or two, or perhaps even none.

The photo is a link.

Barnum Barrows

From the production of Barnum touring the UK, photos of one of the wheelbarrows back stage:

Through a string of connections mostly involving unschoolers, and one thing leading to another, Janine Davies' friend John Stacey, who's playing the Ringmaster/Bailey, sent wheelbarrow photos.

I saw the show in Chichester in 2013, and I was excited about the scene with all the wheelbarrows, because I'm easily excited. Thank you, John, for the close-ups.
