Nuns in a wheelbarrow

Roman d’Alexandre, Tournai 1338-1344 (Bodleian Library, MS. Bodl. 264, fol. 22r)

Sent by Wendy Neathery-Wise, who found it here: discarding images (on facebook)

I put "France" even though the book is in England, and even though Tournai isn't in France anymore. So I'll add England, too.

The Kings Arms wheelbarrow

This wheelbarrow belongs to the Kings Arms pub in Rotherfield, East Sussex.

"It is positioned next to the pub car park, with the pub garden in the background, which then extends onto the village green."
—Janine Davies

So here's how we learn things from a wheelbarrow collection. Here is The Gold Lion's wheelbarrow, which I photographed in 2013, near Winchester, in Hampshire. Pubs have wheelbarrows. I don't suppose ALL *must* have them, but some do. Lots might. In the U.S., I don't think bars have wheelbarrows, nor even rural honky-tonks in the south. So if it comes up in conversation, the difference between a pub and a bar, consider the wheelbarrow factor.

Wheelbarrows for you Sandra
Two resting against the wood shed, one working in the woods.
All three live at Wilderness wood, Hadlow Down, East Sussex.
A very special place that, among lots of other great things, has a Friday Home Ed club, and the best zip wire Kes has even been on apparently.

American Meadows which sells seed for wild flowers and grasses, has a wheelbarrow image for their online shopping cart.
