Greeting cards

Wheelbarrows are good objects for art or photos. I went looking for more of some cards I only have 36 of thinking, I might use them for Christmas next year. I found lots of other cards; not those.

1 - 72 of 1,649 wheelbarrow greeting cards for sale

Over 1600 with wheelbarrows, at one site. If you feel like looking at photos there, here are a couple I liked:

Wilderness Wood, East Sussex

Janine Davies' words and photos:

So many wheelbarrows hard at work at Wilderness Wood yesterday! Mainly leaf collecting and transporting, and natural Xmas decorations too. I particularly like the wheelbarrow with Holly in it. 😊

I’m so glad you collect wheelbarrows. The kids at Friday Club really enjoyed listening to why I was taking pictures of wheelbarrows. They totally got the learning to be had from collecting them. It really appealed to them. 😊

Hunting eggs

This is the first Easter Janine and Karl have lived in the country. A basket might have sufficed, when they lived in the city, but Kes needed a wheelbarrow to bring back all the eggs and gifts from the meadow!

Now with chickens!

Janine Davies:

It's the same green wheelbarrow Sandra, but this time with chickens in it!

🐔🐔🐔

Kes and I were using it to transport any logs and branches from around the garden that we found. We then made a log pile with them in their pen, for the chickens to investigate and play/sit on, but they were more interested in the wheelbarrow!

(Kes did manage to push them around in it for a bit 😂)

Block puzzle, Victorian

This had been on eBay, but sold. The image was still there, and that's all I wanted. I was looking for pictures of a child's Badger Farm Wagon because of the photo here: http://www.shorpy.com/node/20568?size=_original#caption but came across a child's whieelbarrow.

Wheelbarrow song for Iggy

Looking for a video of The Arrow Barrows, I found this song. I can't credit the author or performer as there wasn't a name, but I'd be glad to credit!

Iggy's Grandpa:

I'll tell you about my wheelbarrow
It is so much fun
I move a lot of stuff with my wheelbarrow
Sometimes I even run

My wheelbarrow has one wheel
Two handles and a tug
It's kind of rusty and squeaks a lot
But it still gets things done

I moved some dirt with my wheelbarrow
I dumped it in pile
Then I put little Iggy in
And pushed him around for a while

He smiled and smiled and held on tight
I made a motor noise
The neighbors looked to find out that
It's just us happy boys

I saw some other songs there and might bring others later.

Volkstuin, Leiden 2015

Graham Dusseldorp sent these with a note:

The children and I were working in our garden a few weeks ago and I just showed Julie the pictures. She suggested me to send them to you, so here they are.

Riding in a clean, new wheelbarrow

Toby Tsosie wrote on Facebook:
Connor and I found this pimped out wheel barrel at cooks hardware today.. Well be Rollin deep and doing chores!

When I wrote and asked, this was some of our exchange:
Sandra:
I loved wheelbarrow rides when I was a kid. My dad would go fast and I'd hold the edge and feel like flight.
Toby:
We did a few laps today.
Cook's Hardware has been in Española (my hometown) my whole life (and longer, probably), and the wheelbarrow now resides a few miles up the road in Santa Clara Pueblo. Someday it will be an old wheelbarrow, but On May 18, 2015, it was brand new.

Dig site

Julie Daniel sent a photo of her son Adam and his friend Huxley helping with an archeological excavation. It looks a bit like a wheelbarrow photobomb situation!

Jack-o'-Lantern Ride

So you make this jack-o'-lantern, and that's so exciting you take him for a wheelbarrow ride, right?

Janine Davies wrote:

My son took his finished Jack o lantern for a ride in his red wheelbarrow today. Seems he shares your love of wheelbarrows.

Jurassic wheelbarrow

Hi Sandra,
Thought you might like to see these pics of the Jurassic world in a wheelbarrow that my youngest made and played with today. Complete with the United Kingdom flag!
Enjoy

Illustration from 1930's

Here's a scan of a page from one my mother's books from when she was young, that I also loved as a girl.   The Dominant Vth by Jessie McAlpine (1930).

The girls have hidden their midnight feast goodies in this wheelbarrow and are trying to get it away without the third girl seeing the loot.

It's funny how I remember it being a better picture of the barrow itself. I colored it with my crayons.

Robyn Coburn

"Royal Wheelbarrows"

This photo of Osborne House is courtesy of TripAdvisor

David Newbitt's commentary, on a photo of his that has been removed:
Another shot from our trip to Osborne House. These are the wheelbarrows used by Queen Victoria's children to tend their vegetable plots. They must have been non-sharing children, as each has his/her name painted on them (Pss. H is Princess Helena, Pss. R is Princess Victoria, Princess Royal and so on).

Apparently their father, Prince Albert, encouraged them, and bought their produce from them at going market rates!

Boohbah Barrow

Though the original site is gone, I've found a way for you to get there. The game is playable from a computer (maybe not from a tablet or phone) at Boobah Zone. What's below are just images from the game.

Go to Boobah Zone and let it load. Turn the sound on.

Click the box (made of changing colors and sparkles), and click until they show you the wheelbarrow. Each object out of the box is a link to a different wordless game.

You can help a guy fill it up with apples. I'm sorry the art cut off the very bottom; that's just the way they set it on the screen.
